Information

Parking for Commencement Ceremony

Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the University parking lots located on Fourth Street and Upper Street and in the semi-circle in front of the Haupt Humanities building on North Broadway. Old Morrison Circle will be closed to parking.

Handicapped parking will be available and can be arranged ahead of time by contacting the dean of students' office at (859) 233-8215. Public safety officers will have a motorized cart in the parking lot off Fourth Street behind the Mitchell Fine Arts Center for guests who need assistance.

Photos and Video

We are pleased to have an arrangement with Dan Silvestri of Impact Photography for our commencement photography. Mr. Silvestri has taken the class photo and photos of individual students crossing the stage to receive their diplomas for many years. Orders may be placed at any time by contacting Impact Photography at (859) 252-0725

Photos are priced as follows:
Pkg. 1: One 8x10” group graduation photo and one 5x7” individual graduate photo, $40

Pkg. 2: One 8x10” group graduation photo and three 5x7” individual graduate photos, $50

Pkg. 3: One 8x10” individual graduation photo and three 5x7” individual graduate photos, $60

One 8x10” group graduation photo, $30

One 5x7” individual graduate photo only, $30

Additional 5x7” individual graduate photo with any purchase above, $15

Additional 8x10” individual graduate photo with any purchase above, $20

Restrooms & First Aid

Restrooms will be available on the ground level of Old Morrison; the Cowgill Center for Business, Economics, and Education; and the Brown Science Center.

A first aid station will be set up in front of the Cowgill Center.

Senior Challenge Picnic
Whitaker Bank Ballpark
The picnic at the Third Base Tent is for Senior Challenge Donors only. Attendees for the picnic must also have a ticket to the Legends Game. See below for game ticket information. For more information about Senior Challenge, or to donate to the scholarship fund, contact Rikki Starich in the development office at (859) 233-8285 or rstarich@transy.edu.

Legends' Game
Whitaker Bank Ballpark
Come on out for a night of Lexington Legends baseball with your friends! Bring a blanket and hang out on the lawn (if it's rainy or wet we'll have box seats instead) Show your ID at the group will call table to pick up a free ticket. Remember, parking is extra!

Friday, May 25

Senior Review
William T. Young Campus Center
Graduates are required to come to the William T. Young Campus Center on Friday, May 25, at a time convenient to them between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. At this event graduates will be given rain and breakfast tickets, verify pronunciation of their names, and have an opportunity to order graduation photos and videos. The Dean of Students Office (233-8215) must be notified if a graduate is not able to attend the Senior Review.

Saturday, May 26

7:30-8:30 a.m.
Commencement Day Breakfast
The Commencement Day Breakfast will be served in the Forrer Dining Hall. At the Senior Review each graduate will be given three free tickets for this breakfast buffet. Additional tickets may be purchased at the door.

8:30 a.m.
Senior Group Photo and Commencement Instructions for Graduates
Graduates, wearing caps and gowns, will assemble on the Beck Center steps for a group photo. After the picture is taken graduates will go directly to Haggin Auditorium where the Commencement Marshal will give full instructions for the procession, seating, procedure for receiving diploma, and recession. All graduates must be on time for this as the process must be perfectly understood and observed by all.

Commencement Ceremony

Bianca Spriggs ’03 will deliver the commencement address.

Chairs will be provided. The outdoor Commencement is expected to accommodate all guests of graduates. In case of inclement weather, graduation will be held in the Clive M. Beck Athletic and Recreation Center. Each graduate will receive five rain tickets at the Senior Review for guest seating. If it rains, guests with tickets will be admitted to the Beck Center beginning at 8 a.m. After 9:15 a.m. guests without tickets will be admitted. Seats are not reserved.

Reception
Immediately after the Commencement Ceremony, a reception honoring our graduates will be held in the Haupt Plaza or, in case of rain, in the William T. Young Campus Center.

Special Needs
Anyone needing special seating or other arrangements should contact the Office of the Dean of Students at 233-8215 by Friday, May 25. If a special need arises on Commencement Day, please contact Karen Anderson or any other Transylvania staff member.
