Location, Location, Location

Transylvania is one of America's best liberal arts colleges in one of America's best college towns. Most liberal arts colleges are located in small towns that add little to the college experience. Transylvania is different. It's in Lexington — Kentucky's second largest city, home to more than 30,000 college students. Internships, research, entertainment, part-time jobs, alumni connections, and many other urban experiences are all right at your doorstep at Transylvania.

Lexington is...

A happening place

Lexington has an active arts and entertainment scene. Galleries showcase local, national, and international artists. Clubs and restaurants feature live music throughout the week and on weekends, and the pavilion at Cheapside is a live downtown outdoor music scene every Thursday evening from late spring through early fall. The historic Kentucky Theatre shows new movies along with classic films, community theaters stage plays and productions, and Broadway musicals take the stage at the 1886 Lexington Opera House. The night life has something for everyone, and it’s all within walking distance of the Transylvania campus.
