First-Year Students

First-time college students should submit the following for admissions consideration:

  1. Admissions application and essay

    Prospective students may apply online with the Common Application, a free, easy, secure application used by hundreds of colleges and universities. If you are filling out the Common Application for the first time, please register here.

    If you prefer a paper application, a downloadable PDF application is available for you to print, fill out, and mail in. Please note that the paper application requires a $30 application fee.

    For help filling out either application, contact your admissions counselor.

  2. Official high school transcript

    If you submit an online Common Application, your high school guidance counselor can submit your transcript via the Common Application system.  Otherwise, your counselor can mail your transcript directly to the Office of Admissions.

  3. When you take the standardized test, please remember to send your scores to Transylvania.

    Our codes are: ACT – 1550, SAT – 1808

    Official ACT and/or SAT scores

    Transylvania will accept official score reports from the testing organization as well as ACT and/or SAT scores appearing on official high school transcripts.

  4. Counselor evaluation and recommendation

    If you submit an online Common Application, your high school guidance counselor can submit a recommendation via the Common Application system.  Otherwise, your counselor can complete the Counselor's Evaluation and Recommendation and mail it directly to the Office of Admissions.

  5. Teacher’s evaluation and recommendation

    If you submit an online Common Application, your teacher can submit a recommendation via the Common Application system.  Otherwise, your teacher can complete the Teacher's Evaluation and Recommendation and mail it directly to the Office of Admissions.

  6. Official college transcripts (if applicable)

    If you have taken college or university courses during high school, have an official copy of your final transcript forwarded to the Office of Admissions.
