December 1—Early Action Deadline
Students who wish to receive priority consideration for both admission and scholarships should apply by December 1.
The Office of Admissions will notify candidates who apply Early Action of admission and scholarship decisions by January 15. We strongly encourage all students to apply by the December 1 deadline.
December 1—William T. Young Scholarship Deadline
Students who wish to be considered for the William T. Young Scholarships, Transylvania’s full-tuition and fee scholarships, must apply by December 1. These competitive awards are based on information submitted on the application, including test scores, grades, extracurricular and community involvement, recommendations, and the admissions essay.
The Office of Admissions will notify finalists for the William T. Young competition of their selection by mail in mid-January, and they will be required to submit an additional essay and to attend an on-campus interview.
February 1—Regular Decision Deadline
Students who apply by February 1 will be considered for all merit-based Transylvania scholarships except the William T. Young.
The Office of Admissions will notify candidates who apply by February 1 of admission and scholarship decisions by March 1.
Governor’s Scholars and Governor’s School for the Arts participants must submit their applications by February 1 in order to be eligible for those scholarships. This deadline also applies to students interested in music or studio art scholarships.
After February 1 (First-Year Students)
Applications received from first-year students after February 1 will be considered on a space-available basis.
August 1—Transfer Student Deadline
Transfer students who wish to be considered for fall term should submit their applications by August 1. Transfer students who meet this deadline will receive consideration for transfer scholarships. To ensure earlier notification of admission and scholarships, we encourage transfer applicants to apply by June 15.
